18 March 2025, Hyderabad: Kohli Centre on Intelligent Systems (KCIS) at International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIITH) will be marking Sri F C Kohli’s birth anniversary on 19 March with a special program celebrating his life through research and innovation.
The Kohli Centre on Intelligent Systems (KCIS), named after Sri F.C. Kohli, houses all the AI research groups in the institute. 50 faculty and 500 researchers, which constitute one of the largest research groups in the country. Ranging from language technologies, computer vision, robotics, cognitive sciences and advanced machine learning, with applications in several domains including mobility and healthcare. The Centre celebrates its anniversary on March 19th, the birth day of Sri FC Kohli. Kohli Day is an annual event recognizing the faculty, researchers, and the Centre’s work, all inspired by the visionary tech leader.
This annual event, which has been celebrated every year since 2021, will from this year include an annual keynote Kohli Day lecture. The inaugural lecture this year is by Dr. D. Nageshwar Reddy, Chairman AIG Hospitals, where he will share his insights on AI & Healthcare – Opportunities and Challenges.
This year, on Kohli Day, IIITH will also be inaugurating the Centre for Digital Technologies in Healthcare (CDiTH). A translation lab established to apply modern digital technologies to enhance the efficacy and economy of healthcare delivery for real-world impact in India and the world by effectively bridging academic research and clinical practice. With AIG hospital as a principal partner, Dr. Reddy will be inaugurating the centre.
The event will take place on 19 March, 4-6pm, KRB auditorium.
